INTRODUCTORY LECTURE ON GERIATRIC
ANESTHESIA
"This is
a general lecture on aging and the anesthetic implications.
It is designed for use with residents and is generally
given as two 45-50 minute talks.
The background, fonts, etc, can be modified as per
Powerpoint. You are
welcome to use them as they stand or modify them to suit your
needs. Citing me or
SAGA is not necessary, but please ask for permission if you
publish them in any way.
Many slides have their figures missing.
In their place are the location where you can get the
figure. If you want
to use the figure, you will have to make your own slide, or you
may contact me for other possibilities (rooke@u.washington.edu).
Perhaps at some point we will get author permission to
post the copyrighted figures on the web, but at present we do
not.
Please
let us know if the slides were useful.
If you have suggestions for improvement, we would
especially appreciate hearing from you."
TALK FOR THE LAY PUBLIC ON GERIATRIC
ANESTHESIA
"For anyone interested in providing talks to the lay
public on the anesthetic care of older patients, this Powerpoint
slide show should be useful.
In addition, the ASA has developed a lay talk slide show
for geriatric anesthesia, and although it is a more general
talk, the slides are very well done.
A combination of the two slide shows might be ideal. The ASA talk can be accessed through the ASA website <www.asahq.org>."
